Erik Prince, an American businessman and the founder of the private military company Blackwater, reported to be a close business associate of Ian Hannam, a businessman whose company signed a joint venture to fully acquire a full stake in AirtelTigo (Now AT) from the Ghana Government, has in a video posted online stated that African countries are incapable of governing themselves and they may need to be “recolonized“.

15% Tariff Increase Was Needed To Save Our Business – MTN Ghana CEO
MTN last month announced a 15.0% increase in tariffs for its products and services, effective February 7, 2023. The Chief Executive of MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh, has justified the 15.0% increase in tariffs for all its products and services, insisting, it was needed to help save the business after absorbing the cost for years adding that the company also suffered from the deteriorating macro-economic conditions in the country, forcing management to adjust the tariff.
Ghana Government To Officially Launch Its Tap and Go Transport Initiative on February 19
The VP of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will officially launch the ‘Tap & Go Transport Initiative’ on today Monday, February 19, 2024. The app was piloted in parts of Accra by the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) in December last year with features including ‘private dropping’ (private cars operating as taxis), and ‘metered service’ (where a passenger instantly stops a taxi in the middle of the road and a meter is turned on to determine the charge), in addition to the usual online service app. GoG competing with existing ride hailing services??
