NITA Gets Three ISO Certifications At A Go
Ghana’s ICT industry regulator, National Information Technology Agency (NITA), after undergoing assessment for the right frameworks, support systems, policies and practices that are sustainable has been awarded with three ISO certificates in the areas of information security, business continuity, and IT service management.
NITA, Ghana’s National ICT Regulator, has marked its National ICT Week, the event brought together key industry players, professionals, government representatives, and the public to explore the latest trends, innovations, and opportunities in the ICT sector. See updates on their X handle.

Telecel Ghana Foundation And Viamo Strengthen Partnership With Free Information Service
Telecel Ghana Foundation, and Viamo, have relaunched their free 321 service, a flagship initiative which provides access to a wealth of information on critical topics such as health, agriculture, education, and financial literacy, to people in all regions across the country, including those without smartphones or internet access and in five local languages: Ga, Twi, Ewe, Hausa and Dagbani for free.

Ghana has signed an agreement with a US firm to build the country’s first small modular reactor project in a push to promote nuclear technology.

Fraudulent Tingo CEO fined $250 million in the US
Last year, multiple red flags were raised about the Tingo group and its operations in Ghana and Nigeria. Following a case filed against the CEO last year December, a US federal court has ordered the Nigerian businessman to pay $250million in fines for inflating the “financial performance metrics of his companies and key operating subsidiaries to defraud investors worldwide”.

Govt Is Building A Digital Youth Hub For Young Tech Entrepreneurs
The Minister of Finance Dr Mohammed Amin Adam has announced that the first phase of the Digital Youth Hub being built at University of Ghana is expected to be completed in November 2024. The hub is meant to provide space for young tech entrepreneurs to interact, collaborate and build sustainable technology-based businesses.
