NCA engages Staff on 5G and Spectrum Training
The National Communications Authority (NCA) has engaged 20 of its staff in an intensive four-day training on 5G and Spectrum at Ho in the Volta Region. Mr Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko, the Acting Director Engineering at the NCA, emphasised that the training came as part of the Authority’s effort to improve the skills capacity of its employees to enable them stay up-to-date with industry trends for the effective delivery of their services, in regulating the telecommunications industry.

ECG introduces instant billing, reducing cycle from 30 days to 3 minutes
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has recently unveiled its innovative Spot Utility Billing System (SUBS), which marks a significant transformation in the billing process. Initially tested in the Dome enclave of Accra, the SUBS technology has been rapidly implemented nationwide. This cutting-edge device, developed by the wholly Ghanaian-owned business Polymorph Labs Ghana Limited, aims to revolutionize the billing system by promptly generating bills for customers through various channels, such as printed sheets, mobile text messages, or emails
Very soon entities not on GHANEPS cannot do business with government – PPA Deputy CEO
The Deputy CEO of the Public Procurement Authority, Ghana (PPA), Kwame Prempeh has hinted that very soon Suppliers, Consultants, Contractors and all other procurement entities which have not enrolled onto the Ghana Electronic Procurement System (GHANEPS), cannot do business with the Government and for that matter, face challenges in the line of their operations. They therefore cannot be assured of payment after delivering those services.

Leading the way in cross-border payments, Zeepay has announced a remarkable surge in both its total processed volume (TPV) and revenue. Over the course of just one year, TPV has surged from US$1.9 billion in 2021 to an impressive US$2.9 billion in 2022.

Mastercard Foundation in partnership with MEST Africa organised a forum to advance Educational Technology (EdTech) innovations. The two- day event themed ‘advancing edtech: a forum for innovation’, brought together policy makers, stakeholders, non-governmental organisations, learners as well as EdTech startups and stakeholders within the educational ecosystem to deliberate, discuss and suggest possible solutions in shaping and improving upon the state of education in the country using local based EdTech solutions.
100 pupils from 3 Regions benefit from ‘Girls in ICT’ programme
One hundred girls from the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions have benefitted from the Communication Ministry’s ‘Girls in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)’ programme. The initiative is aimed at enhancing the digital skills of young women and girls in the career field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), particularly ICT.
