Government Of Ghana Waives Import Duties On Electric Vehicles For Public Transportation
The government of Ghana has been working on a policy framework to move public transportation from the use of petroleum fuels to electric vehicles. In line with this, the Finance Minister of Ghana, Ken Ofori Atta, in a budget reading to parliament on Wednesday 15th November, announced that the Finance Ministry would waive the import duty of electric vehicles (EVs) for public transportation in Ghana for up to 8 years.
UK government And GSS launches International Data Masterclass To Empower Data-Driven Policies.
The United Kingdom in collaboration with Ghana statistical service has launched an international free-to-access data masterclass to especially empower government officials on how to use data to improve decision making, craft policies and communicate compelling narratives to advance the course of national development in Ghana. The course would go live on Monday 4th December 2023 and will be available via the UN learning hub.

4 Ghanaian startups among 23 in Visa’s inaugural Fintech accelerator program
Global payments giant, Visa has selected 23 startups from nine African countries for the inaugural cohort of the Visa Africa Fintech Accelerator, four of which are Ghanaian. The four from Ghana are The Blue Pengiun, OZÉ, AgroCenta and Affinity Africa, making Ghana ‘country with the second largest number of participants’ in this inaugural cohort, with Nigeria having the most participants – 6.
GhIPSS CEO And GhanaPay Pick Laurels at Digital Economy Awards in Kenya
The CEO of Ghana Interbank Payments and Settlements Systems (GhIPSS), Archie Hesse and Ghana’s banking-sector mobile money platform, GhanaPay have received honours at this year’s Digital Economy Awards in Nairobi, Kenya.GhanaPay was adjudged The Best Government Payment App of the Year, while Archie Hesse was among the Africa Top 50 Digital Economy Leaders for this year.

The Government of Ghana through the ministry of communications and Digitalization has on Tuesday November 14 launched the re/Start initiative at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT(GI-KACE) with support of the world Bank to train 10,000 young people and Persons With Disabilities(PWDs) in digital skills to help them harness the limitless potential of emerging technologies and digital skills including Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)' Data Analytics- Power Business Intelligence (BI), Data Analytics using Python, Data Science, Cybersecurity Operations, Microsoft AI and Amazon Web Services -certified Cloud Practitioner Certification (AWS CCP)
