Telecoms Chamber proposes 0.5% e-levy on mobile money cash out transactions
While Ghanaians are calling for electronic transfer levy (e-levy) to be completely scrapped, the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications (GCT), is rather proposing a reduction in the rate applicable to transfers and an introduction of 0.5% e-levy rate on cash out transactions.
MTN Ghana set to Raise Prices Again
It would be recalled that in February this year, MTN Ghana increased data and voice tariffs across board, citing rising operational cost. The Telco has again announced that beginning Tuesday, November 28, 2023 prices of the services and products will go up citing same reason: operational costs.

Samsung, one of the global leaders in smartphone innovation, has announced that its Galaxy smartphones with eSIM technology are now available on all three major networks in Ghana: MTN, Vodafone, and AT.
Government received GH¢6.07 billion in tax payments from Telcos in 2022
The Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications says telecommunication companies have paid taxes and other remittances worth GHC6.07 billion to the government in 2022. UG plans Digital Youth Village project for talent development
The University of Ghana (UG) has announced plans to commence construction of an earmarked Digital Youth Village (DYV) project to champion talent development in the digital space.The Ministry of Communication and Digitalisation, with whom UG is partnering for the project has revealed that land and funding for the project is ready and the DYV when completed will be a centre for excellence in digital skills development at the highest level.
