Licence Delays for Towers Badly Affecting Mobile Network Service Delivery – Telcos
Players in the telecom industry have bemoaned delays in granting of licenses for the installation of telecommunication towers and other infrastructure. According to them, the bureaucratic clearances and delays on the part of the regulatory agencies including the seven-month waiting time for mounting a tower are greatly affecting the efficient delivery of voice and internet data services across the country.
Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority elected to lead the African Network of Cybersecurity Authorities
Ghana's Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has been elected to lead the African Network of Cybersecurity Authorities (ANCA), a body comprising a number of African cybersecurity authorities and agencies from different geographical and linguistic areas, with the aim of setting up a platform for exchanges and cooperation between its members and making Africa's voice heard in its dealings with partners around the world on cybersecurity matters.

‘Stay Away From Starlink’, NCA Warns
The National Communications Authority (NCA) says the sale and operation of Starlink in Ghana is illegal. According to the Authority, Starlink has neither been licensed in Ghana nor has any of its equipment been type-approved, adding that their operation in Ghana without a license or authorisation from the NCA is thus in direct contradiction with the provisions of Section 3(1) of the Electronic Communications Act 2008, Act 775. The NCA has therefore cautioned the general public against patronising equipment or service purported to be from Starlink.
MTN Ghana CEO Selorm Adadevoh Promoted To Chief Commercial Officer of MTN Group
The Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh, has been appointed as the Chief Commercial Officer of the MTN Group. Mr Adadevoh will take over from Jens Schulte-Bockum who steps down as Group Chief Operating Officer at the end of his contract term in March 2024.Stephen Blewett, MTN Operations Executive, Markets, will assume the role of CEO of the important MTN Ghana subsidiary.
YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Launches in Ghana.
YouTube has announced that YouTube Music and YouTube Premium are now available in Kenya, Senegal and Ghana for as low as GHC 9.50. YouTube Premium is all of YouTube and YouTube Music without interruptions. What this means is that subscribers will receive ad-free viewing, background play, and the ability to download videos for offline viewing.

Ola SHS wins National Cybersecurity Challenge
Ola Senior High School has emerged winner of the National Cybersecurity Challenge organized by the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) and contested by 50 senior high schools from all 16 regions of the country. The competition aims at enhancing awareness on cybersecurity best practices for students, addressing the increasing vulnerability of students online, and equipping students with the skills to interact with digital technology confidently, safely and responsibly.
