Securities and Exchange Commission, UNCOF launch Crowdfunding Guidelines to boost MSMEs growth
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Ghana (SEC) and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCOF) have launched comprehensive guidelines for equity and investment-based crowdfunding in Ghana to boost the growth of SMSEs and foster collaboration between crowdfunding platforms, banks, MFIs, and investment funds to create a seamless financial ecosystem.
The guidelines would require crowdfunding platforms to provide clear and comprehensive information about investment risks and potential returns and implementing a rigorous licensing process to vet crowdfunding platforms based on their business model, governance structure, and financial stability.

According to Fitch Solutions, only 21.2% of connections will be 5G by 2033, with 4G expected to remain dominant due to handset costs, as 4G handsets are currently the most commercially accessible to consumers, citing how the wholesale open access network model like Ghana’s has seen little success in other markets such as Mexico, India, Malaysia.

Paystack Launches Virtual Terminal In Ghana, Three Other Countries
Paystack, one of Africa’s leading payment platforms has introduced its virtual terminal in 4 African Countries including Ghana. The Paystack Virtual Terminal is a simple, hardware-free solution for businesses that accept in-person payments, such as retail stores, restaurants, or pay-on-delivery services by generating unique QR codes for any customer-facing staff, such as cashiers, delivery riders, or sales agents. When a customer scans the QR code, they can choose to pay via any of Paystack’s multiple payment channels—Mobile Money, Cards, Apple Pay, and more.

ASA Graduates it’s 7th STEM Batch.
African Science Academy (ASA) has held a graduation ceremony for its 7th batch of trained STEM talents. The young women hailing from Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, Cameroon, Zambia and other African countries, in the last ten months were equipped with the skills and knowledge in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). They have completed the globally recognized Cambridge International A-Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Physics, all on full scholarships.
