Ministry Of Communication To Do Device Registration In Addition To SIM Re-Registration
Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George speaking on Newsfile on Joy News has stated that in addition to doing a proper SIM re-registration, government will also ensure that all mobile and other digital devices are properly registered by having a national register of all the devices and their respective IMEI numbers, to make the fight against digital fraud more effective.

Effective February 5, 2025, the National Service Authority (NSA) will adopt a cashless payment system via GHANA.GOV, the government's digital revenue collection platform. According to the NSA, this shift aims to enhance transparency, convenience, and accessibility in financial transactions with the agency.

IBM Exits Ghana, and Other Key African Markets
American technology company IBM has ended its operations in Nigeria, Ghana, and other key African markets, transferring its regional functions to MIBB, a subsidiary of Midis Group, a multinational IT and telecommunications conglomerate operating across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. This move comes as part of a new operating model that IBM will implement in select African countries, effective April 1, 2025.
