Bank of Ghana grants provisional Credit Bureau License to MyCredit Score
Due to the absence of credit assessment, acquiring a loan in Ghana often necessitates a guarantor, a system that can be cumbersome and quite frustrating. The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has however granted a Provisional Credit Bureau License to MyCredit Score Limited, a local company looking to collaborate with NIITA to create credit scores / profiles for Ghanaians, to facilitate their access to credit and for businesses to make informed lending decisions.
Digital Lending Company Optasia Obtains Fintech License From Bank Of Ghana
Optasia, a FinTech company specializing in digital lending technology, has been granted a Payment and Financial Technology Service Provider (PFTSP) license by the Bank of Ghana allowing Optasia, through Xtra MFS Ghana, to offer its AI-led end-to-end proprietary technology to provide credit scoring and decision system to its financial institution clients in the country.

French Platform YouScribe Launches in Ghana, Bringing Diverse Ebook Catalog
In a move to broaden its reach and connect cultures through a multilingual digital library, the French-based digital reading platform, YouScribe, has partnered with Digital Virgo and MTN to launch its services in Ghana. Readers in Ghana will be able to subscribe to the platform for a daily fee of GH₵ 0.75 (approximately US$0.06), granting them access to the extensive digital catalogue of nearly 200,000 English-language ebooks, numerous press titles, and thousands of audiobooks and comic books featuring authors from all over the continent.
Uber Rolls Out Teen Account Feature For Users In Accra
Uber has started rolling out a feature where users can add teens to their family accounts via the Uber app. Guardians can create a teen account, linking it to their Family Profile, which enables them to receive notifications and live updates for every ride requested by their teen.
Spotify Increases Price Of Premium Service In Ghana
Spotify, the audio streaming platform, has increased the price of its “Premium Individual” service for users in Ghana from GHS 17.00 per month to GHS 22.00 per month. This they say is enable them invest in and innovate on their product offerings and features.

GhIPSS GhanaPay introduces savings wallet with competitive interest rate
Users of the GhanaPay mobile money service can now enjoy "MyGhanaPay Savings," a savings wallet which offers monthly interest rates of up to 2.5 per cent or more, depending on the user's bank. This interest is separate from the quarterly interest paid to the main wallet, making it a superior option compared to other mobile money services in Ghana.
First National Bank rolls out new lending solutions for SMEs
First National Bank has introduced a system-based tool called Scored Credit to help MSMEs access credit more without the hassle of financial statements and documentation. The tool, based on analyses of the transactional behavior of First National Bank customers, had disbursed over 250 loans to eligible small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) over the last 9 months.
Affinity Ghana Receives Funding From Investment Firm Renew Capital
Affinity Ghana, a full-scale digital bank based in Ghana, with over 17,000 customers has secured funding for an undisclosed amount from the Africa-focused impact investment firm Renew Capital, who say they are thrilled to invest in Affinity, their first investment in Ghana, and look forward to supporting Affinity in their quest to champion financial inclusion across the continent.

Zeepay closes its $14 million Series A.5 funding round to support its ongoing Africa expansion.
Zeepay Company Limited has successfully closed its $14 million Series A.5 equity funding round. The round was led by the global cooperative and social impact investor Oikocredit. Other investors in the round include the infrastructure investment platform Africa50 Infrastructure Investment Platform, the local pensions-anchored fund, Injaro Investments Limited Ghana Venture Capital Fund, and Verdant Capital Hybrid Fund with a follow-on investment from Investisseurs & Partenaires - I&P.

Nduom School of Business and Technology graduates 1st batch; gives graduands $1,000 each
Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has gifted $1,000 to each graduating student of his school, the Nduom School of Business and Technology (NSBT), explaining that his original intention disrupted by COVID, was to provide the students with seed money to start small businesses while still studying.
