Ghana’s WeWire selected for the Visa Africa Fintech Accelerator
Ghana-based fintech startup WeWire. a B2B cross-border payments platform has been selected for the third cohort of the Visa Africa Fintech Accelerator. This year’s cohort is made up of 19 fintech innovators from 21 African countries, spanning diverse sectors such as embedded finance, SME lending, and digital banking. The startups will gain access to tools, connections, and expertise to scale their solutions, aligning with Visa’s ongoing investment in Africa’s digital transformation.
Mobile Money Interoperability Between Ghana And Nigeria Close To Launch
Brij Technologies Inc. has unveiled its BrijX Currency Swap B2B Digital Platform, which will soon enable real-time currency swaps, peer-to-peer, between Ghanaian Cedi and Nigerian Naira, without the need for foreign exchange intermediation. Brij will work with two initial partners, Mobile Money Limited Ghana and G-Money Financial Services.

Academic City Receives Grant To Boost Biomedical Research In Ghana
The Academic City University College has received a grant from the Seeding Labs’ Instrumental Access programme to develop a world-class biomedical research laboratory. The lab will focus on research projects with real-world impact such as targeted cancer treatments, medical diagnostics, disease detection using nanotechnology, water purification and sustainable agriculture.
Academic City was selected for the grant because of its commitment to fostering innovation and offering students practical and hands-on learning.
