SIM Deactivation: 9 million SIM cards, 7 million MoMo wallets to be affected
CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, Dr. Kenneth Edem Ashigbey says some nine million SIM cards, seven million of which have mobile money wallets containing over GHS200 million risk being deactivated on Thursday, June 1, 2023.

Techfocus24 can confirm that the planned complete SIM deactivation scheduled for Thursday, June 1, 2023 has been temporarily suspended and been replaced with complete service disconnection instead.
NCA removes Surfline SIMs from central SIM database
The National Communications Authority (NCA) has announced to the public that it has delinked all Surfline SIMs from the Central SIM Database. Subscribers who hitherto had reached the ceiling of 10 individual SIMs with the addition of their Surfline SIMs, will now be able to link additional SIMs to their Ghana Cards, the NCA said in a statement.

MTN Ghana declares GHp12.4 dividend
MTN Ghana held its 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 30 May 2023.
Board Chairman Ishmael Yamson told shareholders at the AGM that the telco performed strongly for 2022, with a total revenue growth of 28.4% year-on-year underpinned by good execution of the commercial strategy by management, resulting in growth in voice, data and Mobile Money (MoMo) revenues.
