Cybersecurity Service Providers Without Licenses Barred From Operating In Ghana
Ghana has barred Cybersecurity Service Providers (CSPs), Cybersecurity Establishments (CEs), and Cybersecurity Professionals (CPs) without a license or accreditation from operating in the country. The ban took effect January 1 2024, after a December 31, 2023, deadline issued by the Cybersecurity Authority in line with it’s mandate to regulate CSPs, CPs and CEs.

IT sector’s contribution to GDP hits GH¢21bn
The contribution of the information and communication technology (ICT) sector to the country’s economic output has increased gradually from GH¢4.4 billion in 2016 to GH¢21 billion in 2022.
Additionally, the ICT market, including hardware sales, software development and tech services being spearheaded by the Ghanaian private sector, is becoming the country’s fastest-growing industry valued at GH¢1.8 billion in 2022, up from GH¢1.1 billion in 2019.

Applications for Cohort 4 of SC Women in Technology Incubator Programme Opened.
Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC has announced the opening of applications for Cohort 4 of the Standard Chartered Women in Technology (SCWIT) Incubator Programme, an initiative designed to supports female-led and/or owned businesses.
Selected women entrepreneurs get access to a comprehensive incubation experience, featuring personalized business advisory services, mentorship, and financial grants, as well as several skills development masterclasses, including participating in the high-value Mini MBA programme curated by Ashesi University’s Ghana Climate Innovation Centre (AU-GCIC).
MEST Africa Opens Applications for the Class of 2025
The one-year fully sponsored program training program , based in Accra is designed to help budding entrepreneurs transform their ideas into viable startup businesses through various modules including software development, go-to-market strategies, sales strategies, UI/UX Design, communications, and more. Candidates then pitch their startup ideas for funding and launch businesses that solve local and global problems through software technology.
