Ghana’s Attempt to Launch a Local Music Streaming Platform Yay or Terrible ?
Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in a recent public forum, has stated that the government was working with local entities like MUSIGA and GHAMRO to launch a local Ghanaian digital music streaming platform by November of this year to help local artists with royalties.

Ghana AI Startup Aya Data Raises $900,000 in Seed Round
Launched in 2021, Ghana-based AI startup Aya Data, employs individuals to collect and label data—images, videos, and texts—needed for the development of Large Language Models (LLM) like ChatGPT and Gemini. The company has raised $900,000 in a seed round, a mix of debt and equity and to scale two of its products, AyaGrow and AyaSpeech, and employ new talents.

GSTEP 2025
DreamOval Foundation and its partners have launched the Ghana Science and Tech Explorer Prize (GSTEP) Challenge 2025 for young students across Ghana. The theme for this year’s challenge, “Empowering the Next Generation of STEM Innovators,” is to encourage students to use their skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics to solve real-life problems and to create useful solutions that will help the country.
The GSTEP 2025 application portal is now open, inviting Junior High School teams from Greater Accra, Ashanti, and Eastern Regions to submit their STEM-based projects.
Telecel Ghana Foundation introduces ‘Telecel Digitech Academy’
Telecel Ghana Foundation has launched the Telecel Digitech Academy at St. Cecilia RC School, Ho Dome in the Volta Region- a hands-on practical approach to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education with curriculum covering website development, scratch programming, the Internet of Things (IoT), and robotics. The Telecel Digitech Academy will run along the GES school term and is designed to supplement traditional classroom education with project-based learning.
