Bank Of Ghana Launches New Beta Version Of Macroeconomic Data Portal
The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has launched of the Beta Version of the Bank of Ghana Database Portal, which is aimed at providing a single environment for extracting and visualizing macroeconomic data. Saying the provision of this portal was in line with international best practice and the Bank’s commitment to greater transparency associated with its inflation targeting framework of monetary policy.

AirtelTigo takeover: Hannam Investments deal yet to receive parliamentary approval
JoyNews is learning that the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation is yet to secure parliamentary approval for Ghana’s joint venture agreement that will see the private takeover of the A.T. Telecommunication Network formerly AirtelTigo Ghana. Despite a directive from the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin for the deal to be subjected to a parliamentary approval process, the Ministry of Communications is yet to officially comply with the directive.
Mastercard buys minority stake in MTN’s fintech business
Financial services firm Mastercard has concluded the acquisition of a minority stake in mobile operator MTN Group’s fintech business. MTN says it has signed definitive agreements with Mastercard for a minority investment of up to $200 million (R3.8 billion) into MTN Group Fintech at a valuation of $5.2 billion (R99 billion) on a cash and debt-free basis.

Bank Of Ghana Approves Rightcard (Lemfi) To Operate Remittances To Ghana
RightCard Payment Services Limited (LemFi) announces that it has obtained approval from the Bank of Ghana (BoG) to resume its remittance services to Ghana. The resumption of its services to Ghana follows a temporary suspension of its money transfer services in November 2023.

Remoteli, a Ghana-based tech talent startup that connects African tech talents with remote workplace services, has raised £250,000 pre-seed funding ($314,824) to scale operations and expand across Africa. The funding round was led by Jeremie Frimpong, a Ghanaian-Dutch professional footballer.
Solidaridad Ghana Partners Viamo To Deploy Tech-Driven Solutions To Farmers
Solidaridad Ghana has partnered with Viamo, a digital commerce and tech-solution agency to deploy tailored solutions to farmers and miners under its Acting Now and Pathway to Prosperity (P2P) programmes. The services to be offered by Viamo include an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system, which will enable farmers with basic mobile phones to access timely and critical information needed to cultivate sustainably and mine responsibly by sharing pre-recorded messages in native local languages with farmers and miners to guide them through the cultivation and mining process.
