Govt Generated GH¢1.19bn From E-Levy In 2023 – John Kumah
Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr. John Kumah in response to the latest figures from the Ghana Statistical Service, which indicated that over a million Ghanaian youth were unemployed, has disclosed that the government collected a total of GH¢1.19 billion in revenue from the E-levy for the year 2023 from which it allocated funds to its YouStart Programme, the Ghana Enterprise Agency, and the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme to combat unemployment in the country.

Ghana Implements ECOWAS Free Roaming Initiative with Cote d’Ivoire
The Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, announced that Ghana had successfully implemented the ECOWAS free roaming initiative in collaboration with Cote d’Ivoire. This simply means that Ghanaian subscribers of any network in Ghana visiting Cote d’Ivoire will receive calls without paying any international roaming charges and will be charged the Cote d’Ivoire local rate when making calls to Ghana while in Cote d’Ivoire and vice versa.

RightCard Payment Services Limited trading as LemFi has announced that it has obtained additional approval from the Bank of Ghana (BoG) to partner with Nsano Limited to deliver money transfer services to Mobile Money Wallets and Bank Account Beneficiaries in Ghana.
BoG, DBG, UGBS sign MoU to ensure MSMEs are supported with innovative financing
The Bank of Ghana has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Development Bank Ghana (DBG) and the University of Ghana Business School to commission a study on “Innovative Financing for Micro,Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Ghana”. Wahu Mobility Inaugurates Its Factory For Local Production Of EV Bikes In Ghana
Wahu Mobility, a Ghanaian Electric Mobility startup that manufactures EV bikes, has inaugurated its first local factory for local production of EV bikes. Valerie Labi, CEO of Wahu Mobility, said the company intended to produce 200 electric bikes every month for the domestic and international markets, with a possibility of employing more than 3,000 employees towards the end of the year.

Twitter Africa Staff Use Ghana Labour Law To Secure Redundancy Packages, Lessons For Glo Ghana Workers
Social media giant, Twitter (now known as X) has been forced via local labour laws to reach an agreement with some 11 laid-off staff from its African office in Ghana, paying them what they rightfully deserve after about a year of a back and forth. Some 79 Glo Ghana employees were also subjected to a similar ordeal just about a month ago, when the company paid them some pittance as severance awards, in complete disregard of the labour laws of Ghana.
